Shrek The Musical

Grades 8 – Adult

 

Synopsis

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.

 

Auditions:

Monday, June 2, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM or Wednesday, June 4, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and if needed, Saturday, June 7, @ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

(Audition Location: Mary Cariola Center, 1540 Mount Hope Ave, Rochester, NY 14620)

 

For the audition, please prepare up to 32 measures of upbeat music. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music. You will also be asked to read from the script. Please also wear or bring comfortable dance attire, as all auditioning will be required to learn a short dance/movement combination.

 

Please arrive 15 minutes before the designated time to complete the paperwork. Bring a headshot, resume, and conflicts to the audition.

 

Rehearsals:

June 17 – July 10, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; off July 4)

Tech Rehearsal: July 14 - 17,  6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Please note: Tech week may require additional rehearsals)

 Performances:

July 18 @ 7:00 PM & July 19 @ 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM (3 shows)

Cost: $350 (includes cast shirt)

To reserve your spot, a $75 non-refundable deposit is due at registration. The balance is due on May 1st.

No refunds will be given after the show has been cast.
